If an applicant is experiencing financial difficulty, because they can't work without a certificate, then they can raise a "Hardship" request by email to CustomerServices@dbs.gov.uk, providing their full details, E Number and the reasons for their application to be prioritised.
The DBS will then consider their application and if considered a Hardship case, may ask the Police Force in question to escalate it.
